Well it's been soooo long since my last post but I promise there's lots to show. We had a great summer with Caleb. He loved being outside and didn't mind the heat (~35 degrees C). He also had lots of fun swimming, especially with his dad. In the evenings it was difficult to get him indoors, he wanted to stay outside as long as possible, and whined and banged on the door when we brought him in. He began to understand a lot more and say little words here and there, and now talks all the time, mostly one word at a time. He has just begun a "repitition" thing which sometimes drives me batty - he get excited about something and points at it and then repeats the word LOUDLY about 20 times in a row, whether or not you acknowledge him. Some of his first favourite words were "num-num" - for when he was hungry or eating something enjoyable, "dog-dog", "uh-oh" - for when he drops something, and "eyes", which he usually said while jamming his finger into your eye socket. But his very favourite is "button" which he says very clearly, referring to the bellybutton, usually mommy's, which is protruding a LOT :) Anyway, enjoy the following photos and vids:

Getting INTO things
Well, the tupperware drawer just doesn't suffice anymore, so Caleb has learned to open many drawers and cabinets and is exploring a lot. Here's some pictorial evidence:

And yesterday, he pulled the drawers out on Mark's night table and when I wasn't looking he then started to climb it. It fell over on top of him and this is what it looked like after I extracted him from underneath all this stuff. He was intrigued, but not hurt and did not cry. He instead quickly tried to eat the coins you see spread on the floor.
He got into the flour in the pantry cupboard:
He used his little rake to dig in the soil that is in my planter:
He got into the onions in my cupboard and peeled the skins off.

Om Nom Nom
Caleb is having green peas and sliced turkey. If you listen carefully, I ask Caleb "is that good?" and he glances up and says "yes".
Very cute little voracious eater - this is rare, he's usually pretty picky and unsure of his food.

Dancing to JT, Backpackin', and Counting his Money!
Sorry about the Justin Timberlake, but he's just started moving to the beat when he hears music - I love it!
Various Cute Stuff
Here's Caleb with his little Winnie the Pooh hat on - I think he looks so cute, like a little boy.

Here is Caleb holding Dad's hockey stick for the first time! Dad was SO proud!

On my birthday some friends came over: Jesse, April, and their one-year-old daughter Katie. Caleb was a fan of Jesse :)

Here's Caleb's friend Katie. She is 6 months older than Caleb.

And here they are playing together!!! Mark plays peek-a-boo with them. SOOOO cute!
And here he is after having consumed a chocolate chip cookie. No problems getting that down.
I thought this expression was pretty funny...the eyebrows. He's a character!
And here's the video version of that picture, he likes to touch the camera lens !!!
